Youth Council Mentoring team

All Members of the Youth Council share in groups a Mentor. Some of the Mentors are serving Town Councillor Mentors who have experience in working on and with councils and organisations and are there for advice to the Youth Councillors. There are a total of three Town Councillor Mentors who all work extremely well with the Youth Councillors. We are also fortunate to have a number of Community Mentors to assist the Youth Council. At least one Town Councillor Mentor has to be present at all Youth Council meetings.

Town Councillor Mentors

Cllr Dee Bulley

Cllr Dee Bulley has been a Town Councillor for over 30 years, she has also been a County Councillor and has been Mayor of Carterton 5 times! Cllr Bulley is always there when a Youth Councillor is in need of help and has contributed a lot of encouragement to the Youth Councillors.

Cllr Adrian Coomber

Cllr Adrian Coomber is Chairman of the Town Council Recreation Committee, Chairman of the Neighbourhood Action Group and Coordinator of the Extreme Wheels Project. Cllr Coomber is a great help when documents and pieces of writing need checking over. Not only that but Cllr Coomber believes very strongly in the Youth and helps boost our reputation in any way possible.

Cllr Maxine Crossland

Cllr Maxine Crossland is the current Mayor of Carterton. Cllr Mrs Crossland is a retired School Teacher and now a Town Councillor. She was elected Mayor of Carterton in 2008 and re-elected in 2009. Cllr Mrs Crossland has been a great help to all Youth Councillors by making the Youth Council aware of the rules and regulations.

Community Mentors

Janet Eustace (Town Clerk)

Janet Eustace is the Town Clerk for Carterton and acts as Secretary on Carterton Town Council. Janet does all the administration like minutes, agendas, letters, press releases etc. and she is the point of contact at the Town Hall. Janet is a great help to all the Youth Councillors and gives great advice when it comes to writing letters and approaching other committees.

Ms Tina Cockroft

Tina replaced Shelley Maxfield and is known for being the Area Youth worker at the Allandale Youth Centre. Tina is a great help when it comes to organising events and always offers the Allandale facilities, such as for our end of year celebration.

Mrs Lin Kennedy

Lin Kennedy is the Community Development Officer at RAF Brize Norton. Since she arrived in 2008 she has become involved with the Neighbourhood Action Group the Extreme Wheels Project and now the Youth Council too, Lin is really helpful and easy to get on with and she is good fun too.

Mrs Maddy Radburn

Maddy Radburn is the president of Carterton Lions, she joined the team later in 2009 and is a great support to young people in Carterton.
